    07/12/2017
    7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

A Christmas tradition continues with more musical midwinter charm from the UK’s favourite barefoot, stand-up, guitarist – a world class virtuoso, compelling storyteller and genial host.

Renaissance, Christian, pagan and folk music plus Richard Durrant’s own tunes make these concerts a much loved part of Christmas for audiences throughout the UK. Amongst the wintry solos Richard is joined by his very special guests: Amy Kakoura – a singer with Greek Irish roots and an indescribably stunning voice. Nick Pynn – composer & multi-instrumentalist and one of Britain’s greatest folk fiddlers.

Multi-talented Richard Durrant performs with a style that crosses all musical boundaries.

The guitarist and composer has appeared as guest soloist with the RPO in the Royal Albert Hall and played in the wilds of South America as well as tiny, English village halls. Recent tours took him to the Wilderness Stage at Wilderness Festival and concerts in Spain, France and Paraguay. In 2015 Richard recorded his new work The Girl at the Airport (for guitar and strings) with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Street, Cobham, DA12 3AY

Description:
This Grade I listed church, which dates from the mid 13th Century, overlooks the street in the centre of our village. The medieval architecture provides a spectacular backdrop to our musical events. The chancel contains an internationally famous collection of medieval brasses commemorating the de Cobham family. The church is open daily during daylight hours and is well worth a visit in its own right together with the adjacent medieval College which was built by the de Cobham for the priests, who were appointed to say masses for the family members buried in the church.
